The camera is comparison is sharper with more features and the screen is also larger. It is (as advertised) quite thin and there is very little crease that is not noticeable when looking at the screen. Everything transitioned extremely smoothly from phone to phone and the mint color is very nice. The cover screen is fully functional now. My only complaint is that the hinge is much tighter than the Z Flip 5, and seems to "spring" open once the angle is great enough. This paired with the thin phone makes it a bit cumbersome to open as I feel like it could slip out of my hands, and I am hesitant to open it with only one hand. Other than this, I am quite satisfied.
Wow, not even sure where to start. All I am gonna say is if you want something practical, simple, yet advanced, LOOK NO FURTHER. The Z Flip 8 is a very nice phone. Amazing display, battery is not so bad whatsoever. No need to worry about the hinges when folding, it folds perfectly. The perfomance is exceptional, better than my S25 Ultra which was my previous phone. Get yourself a case, make it more durable but when getting this phone note that you are gonna need to be extra careful with it, as with any phone. You get used to the folding quickly if this is your first Flip. Might have to get the Z Fold 8 Ultra as well 😆. But yes, durability must be considered. Great for making space in your pocket 😆.

It's cute, it's compact, and I can open and shut it. I also prefer the keyboard and the size of the phone since it is easier for me to type and handle. I almost got the Flip 7 for the gorgeous cobalt blue color (GBA SP nostalgia), but then we I found out they were releasing a pink Flip 8 I had to wait. The color is absolutely stunning and I am beyond happy with it. I also think the screen on this phone is a noticeable improvement from my Ultra 25. All in all I am incredibly happy with my purchase and I am going to stick with the Z line in the future!

I am personally not excited when new phones come out, because usually theres no improvement. The Flip 8, has sooo many improvements and evolution compared to the Flip 5. A smooth matte finish back decreases slipping. Protective buildt in covers on the fold mechanism, for those accidents. As a flip user the fold of the phone is usually where it is weak. Samsung has improved their design not only on the edges but the screens too. The flip screen is smooth and flawless and no fidgeting bump that was noticeable on the flip 5. The back screen is bigger and has easier functionality. The phone it self doesn't heat up when in the half fold position, which drained the battery on the old phones. The cameras almost the same as the old ones, but the zoom is MUCH better. A clear picture instead of pixels. I choose this device for the capabilities and awesome flawness. It is still the coolest phone on the market!

The cover screen allows me to do so much without having to open the phone, but when I do open the phone, I now have a nice big screen to work on. That makes the Z Flip 8 the perfect device for me. I love to show off how much fun it is taking group selfies because we can all see ourselves on the cover screen and I also like to use the split screen, especially when watching sports because I can check stats at the same time. This phone is my daily driver and it has plenty of power for me to do what I need for work. I'm not a big gamer so I can't comment on that. Video and productivity apps work fine for me. I have had other Samsung flips and hope they continue with this lineup.

The Galaxy Z Flip 8 is a real upgrade for me. 6.9 screen compared to 6.7, larger exterior screen that is actually usable, 50 mega pixel camera compared to 12, thinner, lighter, more battery life, and the crease is less noticeable, but that was never an issue for me.

I was so impressed with the way the screen folds in a natural way, you honestly do not see a rigid crease in the screen. Your viewing experience is not negatively altered by opening or folding the device. I love the Way you can create your own stand for filming.

I have always loved the idea of being able to put the phone in my pocket without it being overwhelming. I use the phone for both work and personal use, and absolutely love it. Most everyone I know, including my family are on iPhones, but I am never switching and will likely never have another phone that doesn't flip like this phone does. Luckily RCS fixed a lot of the issues with sending pictures back and forth. I have been disappointed with the durability of the screen where it folds. Seems like every really hot summer, it starts to separate just about the time the 1 year warranty expires, so I am hopeful the z flip 8 corrects this. This will never be enough for an issue for me to ever switch. I'm very happy with it so far, and pleased that Samsung continues to offer nice trade-in deals for well kept older model phones. Overall would recommend anyone try this phone, you won't be disappointed.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been a Z Flip user since the Z Flip3. Every year has has improvements, but I almost didn't the Z Flip8 because I wasn't sure there was much left to improve besides minor tweaks. I chose the Z Flip8 and I'm glad that I tried it anyway. The hinge feels much smoother, and doesn't "snap" close quite as aggressively. I've always been content with the dip in the middle of the screen, but this is the first that its very difficult to see unless you look at it from extreme angles; or turn the screen off. I'm not even sure that I can feel the ever so slight dip in the middle. Paired with the Clear Case its very light, and side by side the Z Flip8 is thinner than the Z Flip7. Despite it is only looks around a millimeter thinner while folded, paired with the hinge and weight I find myself impressed with no obvious compromise between each other. I won't even bother counting the days till a potential Z Flip9, but I would definitely wonder how they could get the formula any better. It's the perfect phone for being social as you can just throw it almost anywhere as a small as it is and the fact it can be its own tripod/camcorder when folded makes it awesome for shooting photos and videos. Paired with a Samsung Watch, it gives you all the flexibility you could need with getting the camera rolling at the perfect time and angle. Its compact, apps are snappy, and takes great pictures. I absolutely love the Z Flip8.

The Galaxy Z Flip8 perfectly balances iconic style with meaningful upgrades. The outer cover screen feels much more functional for quick tasks, and the revised hinge closure leaves virtually no gap. Battery life easily lasts through a full day of mixed use, and the primary cameras capture crisp, vibrant shots. While the display crease is still slightly noticeable when the light hits it at certain angles, it remains the most refined and reliable clamshell foldable available today.

I tried the new Samsung Galaxy Z Flip8, and honestly? I’m obsessed. First off, it is incredibly tiny when folded. It is the thinnest and lightest one yet, and it actually fits in normal pockets. Here are the features that actually blew me away, no more awkward selfie sticks! You just half-fold the phone, put it on any flat surface, and the FlexCam acts as its own tripod. The cover screen is actually useful, you don't even have to open the phone to reply to messages or check your schedule. The FlexWindow cover screen lets you customize widgets and has this cool AI "Now Brief" that tells you exactly what you need to know for the day at a glance. If you are bored of standard, boring smartphones and want something that feels fun to use again, just get it. It’s snappy, the AI photo editing is genuinely useful, and folding it closed to "hang up" a call is the most satisfying feeling in the world.
